Any trip to Death Valley from N. California would not be complete without a visit to the Sierras.

Here is my favorite mountain, Lone Pine Peak. Off to the right and back is Mt. Whitney, the tallest mountain in the lower 48 states, - which was not visible on this mist covered morning.

Each and every visit to the Sierras at this spot can produce varied and completely different scenes. The diverse atmospheric conditions can set an entirely different mood with each visit. I have more mountain images from this area in my Sierra Views  and  Death Valley-Sierras Galleries.
